Job description
Company Overview
Deel is a comprehensive payroll and HR platform that supports global teams by combining HRIS, payroll, compliance, benefits, performance, and equipment management into one integrated platform. With operations spanning over 150 countries and AI-driven tools, Deel is transforming how companies connect with global talent, managing billions in payments and offering extensive worker benefits worldwide.
Role Overview
This Staff Product Manager role is central to managing and enhancing Deel IT's device lifecycle operations, which includes procurement, shipping, device support, and returns across more than 100 countries with a network of over 50 couriers and suppliers. The position requires ownership of the operations product platforms, pushing automation of manual workflows, expanding supplier platform capabilities, and driving efficiency for internal and distributed teams.
Responsibilities
- Independently analyze complex operational data and feedback from engineering, logistics, IT support, suppliers, and finance to design a prioritized product roadmap focused on high-impact automation and efficiency improvements.
- Implement automation initiatives such as end-to-end shipping label creation, real-time tracking systems, device condition documentation, IT ticket routing and resolution, and streamlined supplier onboarding.
- Define, build, and monitor critical performance metrics like device delivery timeliness, IT support response times, and revenue per headcount to proactively identify and resolve SLA risks.
- Translate multifaceted operational challenges into actionable, well-defined tasks that engineering teams can execute swiftly, maintaining close communication loops to adapt solutions based on feedback.
- Utilize AI extensively in daily operations for data analysis, pattern recognition, research, synthesis, and decision-making, displaying fluency in prompt engineering techniques.
Requirements
- Minimum six years of product management experience, with at least one year in a senior or Staff PM role owning significant product areas end-to-end.
- A builder mindset focused on solving ambiguous, complex problems autonomously rather than simply managing projects or following predefined roadmaps.
- Experience operating in rapid-growth environments requiring fast iteration cycles with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making and comfort with uncertain information.
- Ability to think systemically across interconnected domains such as logistics, IT support, supplier relationships, and engineering workflows.
- Strong execution skills, detail orientation, and effective communication that distills complexity into concise, clear language.
- Proficiency with SQL, data platforms, and spreadsheet tools to independently conduct data analysis and generate actionable insights.
- Demonstrated active use of AI tools as an integral part of daily work processes with a willingness to experiment and innovate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with supplier networks or internal platform products where the end users are internal teams or distributed stakeholders.
- Prior involvement in scaling products or businesses through phases of hypergrowth, including architectural, process, and team adaptations.
Culture and Expectations
- Self-driven leadership with high ownership and autonomy; ability to act as a CEO of your vertical without a preset roadmap.
- Bias towards fast action, iterative learning, and data-backed decisions over lengthy consensus-building or processes.
- Comfort with managing trade-offs, understanding system-wide impacts, and welcoming intellectual challenge.
- Clear, concise communication style prioritizing clarity and brevity to avoid ambiguity.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal day-to-day managerial direction while leveraging available expertise for context.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive gross base salary with localized currency adjustments depending on country.
- Stock grant opportunities aligned with role and employment status.
- Additional perks and benefits tailored to employment status and local regulations.
- Flexible remote work options including access to co-working spaces.
