Sourcing Procurement Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a Technical Sourcing & Supplier Development Engineer who will act as a critical link among Engineering, Procurement, and Product Development teams. This role involves partnering with R&D, Production, and Procurement to discover new suppliers, source key components, assess technological offerings, manage costs effectively, and contribute to developing cutting-edge products.

Key Responsibilities

• Discover and engage new OEMs, ODMs, manufacturers, and component vendors.
• Source key components including electronic, mechanical, UAV, camera, and embedded systems parts.
• Evaluate suppliers on technical capabilities, quality standards, pricing policies, delivery timelines, and dependability.
• Formulate alternative sourcing plans to reduce costs and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Coordinate with R&D throughout product development cycles.
• Assist in selecting components and lead technical sourcing efforts.
• Support Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation and optimization.
• Identify alternative components to improve cost-effectiveness, availability, and performance.
• Manage requests for quotations (RFQs) and analyze supplier bids.
• Negotiate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, payment terms, and deliveries.
• Drive supplier negotiations and foster long-term vendor partnerships.
• Conduct market research on emerging technologies, prospective suppliers, and manufacturing collaborators.
• Benchmark competitors' products and sourcing methods to inform strategic decisions.
• Identify innovative components and solutions that strengthen IZI's product lineup.
• Liaise with R&D, Production, Procurement, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely procurement and successful product delivery.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Aerospace, or relevant engineering discipline.
• Between 6 months and 3 years of experience in technical procurement, supplier development, product engineering, supply chain management, or component sourcing.
• Basic knowledge of electronic and mechanical components.
• Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and product development processes.
• Strong abilities in communication, analysis, and coordination.
• Interest in supplier negotiation, strategic sourcing, and assisting new product development.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites and manufacturing units when necessary.

Preferred Experience

• Background in UAV or drone manufacturing.
• Experience with consumer electronics.
• Knowledge of robotics and electronics manufacturing.
• Understanding of embedded systems, automotive electronics, and imaging or camera products.
