About the Company
Our client is a seasoned manufacturer with over three decades of experience specializing in liquid food products and innovative beverage solutions. They provide versatile manufacturing and co-packing services catering to a broad spectrum of low-acid and high-acid beverages as well as liquid food items.
Role Summary
The Packaging Sourcing Analyst reports directly to the Sourcing Manager and plays a critical role in supporting packaging sourcing activities. Responsibilities include demand planning, supplier management, market research, cost analysis, and inventory planning, aimed at assuring supply consistency, optimizing costs, and increasing operational effectiveness across packaging materials used in manufacturing processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing packaging sourcing strategies by performing demand analyses, cost modeling, market research, and supplier benchmarking for all packaging levels—primary, secondary, and tertiary.
- Oversee demand forecasting, inventory management, sourcing schedules, and replenishment operations to align with production and long-term planning.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support sourcing, packaging development, commercialization, and ongoing improvement efforts for current and new products.
- Evaluate supplier performance through KPI monitoring, reporting, issue resolution, corrective actions, and relationship management.
- Analyze trends in the packaging market including cost drivers, supply risks, and price changes to advise on sourcing decisions and ensure cost efficiency and supply reliability.
- Create and update forecasting models, cost breakdown analyses, packaging specifications, and reporting tools with necessary documentation.
- Coordinate packaging trials, approvals, and improvements to meet standards for quality, manufacturability, efficiency, and customer requirements.
- Support pricing alignment efforts, manage rebate programs, and assist with invoice reconciliation in partnership with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments.
- Identify and recommend processes for improvement, cost savings, and supply chain efficiencies by leveraging data analysis and supplier interaction.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety protocols, health and safety regulations, environmental policies, and legal standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related disciplines.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills enabling collaboration at all organizational levels.
- Previous experience in packaging sourcing, procurement, packaging development, or supply chain functions is beneficial.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Capability to perform well in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing setting.
