About the Role and Team
We are searching for a highly motivated and accomplished solicitor with 2 to 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in employment law to join our respected Employment Law team based in Auckland. This opening is ideal for candidates from both boutique and large national law firms. Our Tier 1 team, locally led by Gillian Service and June Hardacre, is one of New Zealand's largest employment law practices, serving a broad range of clients including government entities, listed corporations, and innovative businesses.
Responsibilities
The role encompasses comprehensive employment law duties such as:
- Safeguarding confidential information and managing trade restraints
- Advising on worker classification, contingent labor, and flexible employment arrangements
- Handling industrial relations matters
- Addressing occupational health and safety concerns, bullying, harassment, and employee wellbeing
- Navigating privacy and regulatory compliance issues
- Supporting human rights and anti-discrimination cases
- Guiding organizational change procedures and consultation best practices
- Updating clients on legislative shifts and their employer-related implications
About You
- Between 2 and 5 years PQE specializing in employment law
- Strong commercial insight combined with practical, solution-oriented thinking
- Self-driven with a positive, proactive mindset capable of independent and collaborative work
- Excellent client communication and relationship management skills
