About the Company
Our client is a technology-for-good organization dedicated to creating software that drives significant, positive real-world impact. They are in search of a Software Engineer to join their engaged and collaborative product engineering team, combining solid technical ability with a considerate, cooperative engineering mindset.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and sustaining scalable software products primarily using Python and TypeScript. This position involves close collaboration with Product Management, Design, and Engineering teams to implement new features, enhance existing applications, and influence overall platform technology decisions. This is a practical engineering role offering opportunities to shape system architecture, elevate code quality, mentor fellow engineers, and establish best engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions
- Create dependable APIs and backend services
- Work collaboratively with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver innovative features
- Assist in defining architecture and guiding technical direction
- Participate in code reviews to enhance engineering quality standards
- Mentor and support colleagues in the engineering team
- Optimize platform performance, reliability, and monitoring
Requirements
- Proven commercial experience using Python and TypeScript
- Familiarity with Next.js and NestJS frameworks
- Experience developing cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure
- Background in working with large-scale software platforms
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
- Excellent communication abilities and a team-oriented approach
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Terraform or Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tools is an advantage
- Interest in AI, sustainability, or technology-for-good initiatives is highly desirable
Compensation
The salary can go up to £80,000 depending on experience. Additional details about compensation will be shared during the application process.
