Role Overview
The Site Agent position involves experienced oversight of a construction site, particularly skilled in reinforced concrete frames, curtain wall facades, and premium internal finishes. This key role demands overall responsibility for ensuring safe, efficient, and quality-driven onsite operations from initial site preparation to project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in formulating initial project timelines and understand weekly targets.
- Organize and supervise site setup, ensuring all facilities are operational before commencement.
- Maintain effective relationships with subcontractors working on-site.
- Enforce health, safety, environmental, quality, and sustainability standards consistently.
- Oversee quality control measures throughout the project.
- Maintain and update the temporary works register diligently.
- Identify and communicate issues impacting project delivery such as resources, materials, schedules, safety, or budget matters to management.
- Accelerate project progress through effective planning and site activity coordination.
- Monitor energy consumption and waste generation on-site.
- Prioritize and sequence operations efficiently.
- Supervise foremen and site personnel effectively.
- Lead daily briefings ('whiteboard meetings') to align teams.
- Ensure adherence to incident reporting protocols.
- Manage all phases of project delivery from mobilization to completion.
- Liaise with commercial teams to resolve technical and budgetary challenges.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively to site team members.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date site documentation and records.
- Adhere strictly to project execution plans to guarantee timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Implement and manage an efficient access registration system for all site entrants and exits.
Experience and Skills
- More than 10 years' construction project delivery experience across diverse sectors.
- Proven ability to build consensus and nurture productive working relationships.
- Familiarity with industrial relations practices.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing medium to large scale projects and teams.
- Strong competencies in people management, including subcontractor supervision and staff direction.
- Excellent communication skills, able to clearly and persuasively engage colleagues and clients.
- Thorough knowledge of trades, construction codes of practice, and specific site requirements.
- Effective decision-making capabilities, prioritizing project needs intelligently.
- Calm and composed under pressure, setting a professional example.
- Skilled at managing competing priorities and complex stakeholder relationships.
Mandatory Qualifications and Training
- Trade or technical educational background.
- IOSH or equivalent certification in health and safety management.
- Training in temporary works and excavation safety.
- Certification for permitting live energy works.
- Training for working at heights and scaffolding safety.
- Training in lifting and cranage operations.
- Additional health, safety, environmental, and quality training as required by site HSE plans.
- Understanding of new construction technology systems and BIM strategy.
Desirable Qualifications
- Project management qualification or relevant course completion.
- Completion of Sisk’s internal management development programme.
- Degree in engineering, construction management, or a comparable discipline.
