About the Role
ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems (Pedestrian) is a worldwide leader in access solutions, known for delivering high-quality products with a strong focus on innovation, integrity, and reliability. The company is hiring a practical, customer-oriented Service Technician to support service and maintenance work across its product range in Wellington, with the role based in Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, repair, and maintenance work on the company’s doors product range.
- Coordinate with customers and the planning team about repairs, installations, and any site-related issues.
- Prepare required paperwork and records accurately, meeting standards for quality and turnaround time.
- Look after tools and PPE, and follow workplace health, safety, and company procedures at all times.
- Be available for flexible working arrangements, including callouts, overtime, and work outside standard hours.
- Log safety incidents, hazards, and risks in Donesafe, and take part in training sessions, audits, and meetings.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant will have hands-on experience in a trade environment such as building or carpentry, or in a similar field. Prior exposure to service and installation work is preferred. Familiarity with the Wellington region is an advantage.
A qualification or license as an electrician or fitter and turner is desirable, and experience with controls would be a bonus. The role also prefers candidates who hold EWP (Scissor Lift) and Forklift licenses.
Applicants must have a current driver’s licence and be willing to work flexibly, including weekends.
