Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy

Role overview

The Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy is a top-level executive position focused on defining the organization’s long-range direction, steering enterprise planning, and informing decisions at the highest level. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this leader partners with the executive team to shape strategy, identify growth avenues, improve competitive strength, and keep strategic priorities tied to business goals and long-term value creation.

This role oversees the corporate strategy function and enterprise planning efforts, working across finance, operations, product, commercial teams, customer-facing groups, business development, and other executive stakeholders to support durable growth and organizational competitiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Build and implement the company’s long-term strategy in line with business objectives and growth targets.
• Lead enterprise planning cycles and the annual business planning process.
• Convert the corporate vision into clear strategic priorities and measurable goals.
• Advise senior leadership on direction, priorities, and business opportunities.
• Keep strategy aligned with execution across the enterprise.
• Assess emerging markets, new industries, and other long-horizon growth opportunities.
• Analyze competitors and industry trends to guide strategic choices.
• Spot opportunities for expansion, diversification, and value creation.
• Support strategic investment decisions and growth programs.
• Recommend actions that improve market positioning.
• Back enterprise-wide transformational initiatives and strategic programs.
• Review strategic partnerships, alliances, acquisitions, and similar opportunities.
• Work with executive leadership on corporate development priorities.
• Lead strategic evaluation of major initiatives and investments.
• Improve governance and prioritization of strategic enterprise programs.
• Create executive reports, strategic dashboards, and business performance frameworks.
• Track performance against strategic objectives and KPIs.
• Provide insights and recommendations that support executive decision-making.
• Review organizational performance and identify strategic improvements.
• Support board presentations and executive planning activities.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, product, engineering, sales, marketing, customer organizations, and senior leaders.
• Align strategic goals with business capabilities and operational realities.
• Encourage cross-functional coordination on strategic initiatives.
• Build strong working relationships across functions to drive alignment.
• Represent corporate strategy in executive forums and governance meetings.
• Lead strategy teams, business strategy professionals, and enterprise planning functions.
• Create a culture that is analytical, collaborative, and future-focused.
• Support leadership development, succession planning, and capability building.
• Encourage strategic thinking, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Management, or a related discipline is required.
• An MBA or another advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 15 years of senior leadership experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, corporate development, business planning, investment banking, or closely related areas.
• Proven track record of creating enterprise strategies and advising executive leadership.
• Strong capability in analysis, financial thinking, strategic planning, and executive communication.
• Ability to influence C-suite leaders and drive large-scale initiatives across the organization.
• Experience in SaaS, technology, fintech, AI, energy, enterprise software, consulting, or other high-growth environments is preferred.
• Background in top-tier consulting, corporate strategy, private equity, investment banking, or corporate development is preferred.
• Exposure to global or multi-regional operations is preferred.
• Familiarity with strategic planning, portfolio management, market analysis, and financial modeling is preferred.
• Experience working with executive teams, boards of directors, and investors is preferred.

Reporting structure

This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Direct reporting lines may include the Corporate Strategy Team, Business Strategy Team, Strategic Planning Team, Corporate Development Team, Market Intelligence and Competitive Analysis Team, Enterprise Performance and Analytics Team, and Strategic Initiatives Team.
