Role overview
This is a senior backend development position based in Chennai and requiring on-site work. The role calls for strong hands-on expertise in Java-based enterprise application development, along with the ability to work across web and mobile-responsive solutions.
Education and experience
A bachelor's degree is required, such as BSc, MSc, Engineering, MCA, or an Indian or international equivalent from an accredited institution. The ideal candidate should bring 5 to 8 years of experience in backend development.
Core technical background
The position expects solid working knowledge of J2EE 1.8 or above, Spring 3+, Hibernate 5+, JavaScript, JSP, Oracle Database and SQL, HTML5, and Bootstrap. Additional exposure to microservices-oriented service development, jQuery, Angular 2+, React JS, and integrating REST APIs with applications will be valuable.
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and implement software solutions with a practical, hands-on approach, including responsive web and mobile-friendly applications.
- Assess existing application architecture and also contribute to building solutions from the ground up where needed.
- Take part in requirement review discussions and carry out detailed analysis of business needs.
- Work independently, produce high-quality code, and follow industry-standard engineering practices while maintaining speed and agility.
- Stay effective under pressure and deliver within critical deadlines.
- Manage frequent change requests and support activities as part of day-to-day delivery.
- Continuously improve application performance and stability.
- Adapt quickly to new technologies and upskill as project needs evolve.
- Collaborate with the QA team to resolve identified defects promptly.
- Contribute to post-implementation review and issue resolution.
- Learn on the job and translate learning into measurable delivery outcomes.
- Communicate clearly through strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
