Overview
The Senior ICT Systems Administrator at Wellington Free Ambulance is entrusted with the technical stewardship, reliability, and ongoing enhancement of the organisation's ICT infrastructure. This role provides expert engineering leadership, drives technical decisions, and defines standards spanning infrastructure, cloud services, and user environments. It also serves as a senior technical escalation point within the ICT team.

This position operates at both operational and strategic levels, contributing to solution architecture, technical best practices, and system efficiency. It requires independent judgment to address complex challenges and oversee technical problem resolution.

Wellington Free Ambulance is the sole emergency ambulance provider for the Greater Wellington and Wairarapa regions, committed to delivering outstanding emergency response and connected health services. With a boutique community feel, the organisation covers a population of approximately 500,000 people across a wide region from Cook Strait to Kāpiti Coast and Wairarapa. Apart from emergency services, it offers patient transfer, 111 call clinical communications, event medical support, and community CPR education initiatives.

Key Skills and Experience Required
- More than 5 years of ICT work experience, including at least 3 years in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or senior technical support.
- Proficient with Microsoft enterprise platforms including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Exchange, Intune, and endpoint management solutions.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for automation, reporting, and configuration management.
- Solid understanding of networking and security technologies such as switching, firewalls, VPNs, and WiFi.
- Experience with developing or supporting Microsoft Power Apps, Workflows, and Power Automate to enhance business process automation.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in IT.
- Microsoft certifications like M365 Administrator, Security, Modern Desktop, Azure Administrator, or related credentials in identity, security, or infrastructure fundamentals.
