Job description

Role Overview

This position reports directly to the Commercial Manager and focuses on supporting and enhancing the financial processes of the hotel to support excellent guest experiences defined by The Address Collective. The primary duties include financial reporting, detailed analysis, budgeting, and audit preparation as a vital member of the management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage staffing schedules effectively to meet business needs and revenue targets, collaborating with department heads.
  • Forecast weekly revenues for Food, Beverage, and Spa operations.
  • Handle payroll operations and related statutory submissions such as P30 returns.
  • Prepare month-end financial statements including Profit & Loss accounts and Balance Sheet reconciliations, along with bi-monthly VAT return submissions.
  • Oversee purchasing and inventory controls aligned with operational requirements in partnership with department leads.
  • Provide support during the annual audit process by working closely with auditors.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial forecasts and the annual budget.
  • Maintain strong financial controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal processes.
  • Advise departments on the financial impact of their activities to maintain overall company profitability through sound budget management.
  • Ensure accurate and secure management of income from various payment methods including card, cash, cheque, and bank transfers.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Proficient with IT systems, financial software, and hotel-specific technology platforms.
  • Ability to establish and nurture professional relationships with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
  • Good judgment and decision-making talents.
  • Fundamental knowledge of hotel law and operational impacts relevant to the accounting department.
  • Understanding of overall hotel operations and their interface with finance.
  • Degree-level education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Minimum two years experience in accounting roles.
  • Prior expertise in hotel accounting and similar positions.
  • Relevant professional accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
