Senior Heavy Equipment Erection Engineer

Overview

The position is for a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Heavy Equipment Erection located in the Jetty Area at Dahej, Gujarat. This role demands leadership of heavy equipment erection activities, coordination with various project participants, and ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards within EPC, PMC, Infrastructure, and Industrial Projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the erection of heavy equipment at the jetty/project site.
• Liaise daily with equipment vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth erection operations.
• Resolve technical issues related to erection through in-depth discussions and site evaluations.
• Implement and monitor rigging and lifting processes in line with project guidelines and safety standards.
• Review all erection-related documentation, including plans, method statements, and lifting studies for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure that heavy lifting and equipment installations are executed according to approved procedures.
• Supervise site activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and established timelines.
• Maintain thorough records including technical documents, inspection reports, and erection logs.
• Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to support smooth project progress.
• Enforce strict safety adherence, including compliance with work permits and HSE site requirements.
• Assist project management in planning, monitoring progress, and reporting on mechanical erection tasks.

Qualification and Experience

• Possess a B.E. or B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Have 15 to 20 years of hands-on experience in mechanical construction and heavy equipment erection within large-scale industrial projects.
• Demonstrate expertise in handling heavy lifting, rigging operations, and mechanical equipment installation.
• Strong understanding of erection methodologies, construction best practices, and safety protocols is essential.
• Experience in jetty, marine, refinery, petrochemical, fertilizer, power, or similar sectors is advantageous.
• Exemplary coordination, problem-solving abilities, and capacity to manage contractors and execution teams efficiently.
