Role Overview

In the position of Senior Solution Engineer, you will join a cross-functional team developing and maintaining mobile applications for The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, and Noel Leeming brands. The focus is on creating responsive, secure, maintainable, and high-quality native Android apps by collaborating with designers, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure top-tier Android solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, ensuring code quality through reviews and mentoring within a small development team.
• Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications.
• Work closely with UX designers, engineers, and various stakeholders to implement new app features.
• Contribute to making architectural decisions and shaping the technical roadmap.
• Promote and uphold best practices in testing, continuous integration/deployment, and documentation.

Required Experience and Qualities

• A minimum of five years in native Android development using Java and/or Kotlin.
• Proficiency with Android Studio and experience collaborating with UX designers.
• Strong understanding of HTTP and consumption of JSON web services.
• Knowledge of automated testing including unit tests, UI testing, and static analysis tools.
• Solid familiarity with design patterns like MVC and MVVM and their appropriate application.
• Hands-on experience in architecting efficient mobile app architectures and data models.
• Ability to write clear, comprehensible technical documentation for development team use.
