Position Overview
Working as a Self-Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada is an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills within the retail sector. This role involves delivering outstanding customer service to ensure that shoppers have a smooth and positive experience while using self-service checkout stations. Key Duties
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organized self-checkout area, ensuring it is free from unnecessary items, debris, spills, and obstructions.
- Guide and instruct customers on how to efficiently utilize self-service checkout options when needed.
- Promote Walmart's sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charity campaigns, as appropriate.
- Monitor customer activity to assess if assistance is necessary.
- When interventions or quality assessments are required, explain politely the purpose of these checks and reassure customers that such procedures are standard practice for self-service checkouts.
- Know how to respond to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms and accurately complete the "Failure to Deactivate" log.
- Notify the Customer Service Manager if there are cash shortages or technical issues in the self-checkout area.
- Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated stations after customer use.
Compensation
The starting wage for this role is $16.15 per hour.

- Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
