Role Overview

The Security Education & Training Specialist is tasked with implementing a comprehensive security education, awareness, and training program tailored for the Air Force Special Access Program community. This position requires working onsite five days a week in El Segundo, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze client requirements and collaborate with subject experts and conduct independent research to create impactful, high-quality training materials aligned with the JAFAN and ICD publication series.
  • Integrate Executive Orders and other relevant regulations related to national security information protection for program-accessed personnel and career security professionals into the education initiatives.
  • Assist in the creation, distribution, and delivery of various security education content that supports blended learning methodologies, including training plans, slideshows, briefings, newsletters, online resources, refresher courses, and specialized training across all classification levels and access types.
  • Participate as an active member of the Special Programs Security Education Council.
  • Collaborate with external security educators to procure educational resources for industry-wide dissemination and recommend enhancements.
  • Contribute to the development and rollout of web-based tools to improve security education and awareness programs.
  • Measure the effectiveness of security education initiatives by collecting and analyzing performance metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain familiarity with security policies, including ICDs, JAFANs, DOD manuals, and other guiding documentation.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with an additional four years of relevant experience substituting for the degree requirement.
  • Have at least 8 years of related work experience, including a minimum of 4 years in an SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information) environment.
  • Demonstrate at least 2 years of experience relevant to Special Access Programs is strongly preferred.
  • Exhibit ability to thrive in dynamic work settings and effectively engage with diverse Department of Defense, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners.

Security Requirements

  • Hold an active Top-Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Qualified for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • Consent to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph examination.

Additional Conditions

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% within the organizational Area of Responsibility (AOR).
