Job Overview
Comsons is seeking an experienced SDS2 Checker based in Nashik, Maharashtra. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing structural steel models, shop drawings, and erection drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to project and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine SDS2 steel models, shop drawings, and erection drawings in detail.
- Validate dimensions, connections, member identification marks, bolts, welds, and material specifications.
- Confirm that drawings align with project requirements and comply with AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) standards.
- Detect any errors in detailing and collaborate with detailers to make necessary corrections.
- Conduct quality assurance checks prior to client submission.
- Manage workload effectively to ensure timely project delivery without compromising quality.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Possess 2 to 3 years of practical experience as an SDS2 Checker.
- Proficient hands-on skills with SDS2 software.
- Solid understanding of structural steel detailing and fabrication procedures.
- Knowledgeable about AISC standards and US-based steel detailing conventions.
- Strong analytical thinking, clear communication abilities, and effective problem-solving skills.
Educational Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in US structural steel detailing projects is advantageous.
