About ON.energy
ON.energy develops advanced power infrastructure essential for supporting the growing demands of AI technology. Their cutting-edge power solutions have been deployed at a scale exceeding 2.5 gigawatts across hyper-scale data campuses, validated by leading U.S. national laboratories and certified by major utilities to ensure safe grid integration. The company is rapidly expanding, enabling a transformation in power management to become a competitive advantage for companies shaping the future.
Role Overview
The company is looking for a Scrum Master to join their Energy Management System (EMS) team. This individual will facilitate agile workflows, oversee ticket management from external sources into the internal EMS backlog, maintain agile integrity throughout the team, and collaborate with managers to align priorities with evolving business goals. The Scrum Master will act as a facilitator, process custodian, and coordinator without holding direct authority over team members.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the key accountable person for all tickets raised by external teams including internal departments, field operations, partners, and customers.
- Properly categorize, triage, and map all external tickets to corresponding internal work items, maintaining full traceability.
- Ensure accurate and consistent data within the Azure DevOps ticketing system, preventing loss or duplication of tickets.
- Monitor ticket progress and relay resolution status back to requesting parties.
- Guide EMS team managers and leads in the correct and consistent application of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Coach leaders on Agile ceremonies, principles, and tools, identifying and addressing deviations.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies — sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives — to maximize team value and minimize overhead.
- Develop, track, and share metrics such as velocity, cycle time, and backlog cleanliness to uncover and address process inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with managerial staff to continuously assess and reprioritize the team backlog as business needs evolve.
- Lead transparent discussions to balance conflicting priorities, considering urgency, team capacity, and business impact.
- Translate shifting priorities into actionable sprint and backlog adjustments with clear communication.
- Act as an impartial coordinator to maintain team focus on high-value tasks.
- Remove obstacles and protect the team from distractions to ensure smooth delivery.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and responsibility.
- Promote transparency with up-to-date dashboards and reporting.
Required Qualifications
- At least three years experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, or similar role.
- Practical experience managing issue and ticket workflows using Azure DevOps.
- Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and other Agile frameworks.
- Technical understanding of EMS systems sufficient to triage issues, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with engineering teams (no hands-on development expected).
- Proven ability to coach and influence team leads and managers without formal authority.
- Excellent skills in organization, facilitation, and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Agile certification such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
- Experience in a technical environment involving software, hardware, and industrial systems.
- Track record coordinating across multiple teams or disciplines.
- Familiarity with analytics and reporting tools like Power BI for delivery tracking.
- Exposure to energy management systems, battery storage, or industrial control systems (SCADA, PLC) is advantageous.
- Spanish language proficiency is a strong plus.
