Job description

Job Overview

This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students while they are transported to and from school or other designated locations.

Primary Duties

  • Provide assistance to students during transportation and during the processes of boarding and exiting the bus
  • Ensure students and any equipment are properly secured
  • Communicate bus safety rules and guidelines to students
  • Observe and manage student behavior to prevent distractions to the driver and to avoid injuries or conflicts
  • Support the safe evacuation of students in emergency situations
  • Participate in all required safety meetings
  • Maintain positive relationships with the public, school personnel, parents, and students
  • Execute additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Required to sign a release form to undergo a criminal background check
  • Must successfully complete and pass a physical exam
  • High school diploma or GED mandatory
  • MUST have citizenship, legal residency, or a valid work visa
