DB Intermodal Services GmbH, wholly owned by TFG Transfracht GmbH within the Deutsche Bahn Group, provides complementary transport services and operates a national network of container depots, repair workshops, transfer terminals, and container delivery organizations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of containers and transport carriers to identify damages or contamination.
• Generate detailed inspection reports that serve as the foundation for repair offers (estimates) and work orders.
• Independently prepare the necessary replacement parts needed for repairs.
• Execute all assigned repair tasks on containers and swap bodies based on written work orders, including repair and cleaning.
• Coordinate with depot management if the planned repair effort requires exceeding estimated time or materials, or if replacement instead of repair is necessary.
• Confirm completion of all performed tasks in the work order documentation.
• Maintain inventory and stockroom organization.
• Create material requisition requests for procurement purposes.
• Adhere strictly to all safety and accident prevention regulations.
• Undertake additional duties as directed by supervisors.

Candidate Profile

• Completed training or practical experience in steel construction or locksmith work; applicants new to the profession or switching careers are welcome.
• Dependability, strong commitment to work, and ability to work well in a team.
• Good manual dexterity and craftsmanship skills.
