Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time Safety Officer based onsite in Aluva, Kerala. The primary responsibility will be to foster and uphold a secure workplace throughout the project site by conducting regular safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring complete adherence to health, safety, and security regulations. The role encompasses updating safety records and documentation, delivering training sessions and toolbox talks on safety, supporting occupational health programs, and managing emergency preparedness protocols.

The Safety Officer will also be responsible for investigating incidents and near-miss events, preparing detailed reports, recommending corrective and preventive measures, and ensuring these actions are implemented. Effective collaboration with project managers, site supervisors, and workers will be key to strengthening the safety culture and promoting ongoing improvements.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Solid knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health principles, with practical experience in applying and monitoring safety policies.
• Proficiency in accident investigation techniques including root cause analysis and documentation to support corrective action planning.
• Experience managing security operations at project sites, ensuring controlled access, adherence to safety protocols, and thorough incident reporting.
• Capability to conduct safety training such as inductions, toolbox talks, and regular awareness sessions for site staff.
• Relevant diploma or degree in safety management, occupational health, engineering, or related disciplines; recognized professional safety certifications are a plus.
• Familiarity with national and local safety regulations and the competence to implement these standards practically at the worksite.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively influence and lead teams regarding safety compliance.
• High attention to detail with excellent documentation skills and basic proficiency in computer applications for maintaining reports and safety records.
• Prior experience working as a Safety Officer or similar in construction, industrial, or project-based environments is preferred.
