Job description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Safety Compliance Monitoring Auditor to join Emerald Airlines in Dublin. This role is responsible for conducting thorough audits within the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) in line with regulatory standards and internal procedures to ensure safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform both scheduled and random audits of CAMO activities as per the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) approved Annual Audit Plan, including audit preparation, execution, reporting, issuance of non-conformances, and follow-ups.
- Conduct independent compliance reviews for both internal CAMO processes and contracted or subcontracted operations on behalf of Emerald Airlines.
- Communicate with responsible managers or external auditees to ensure corrective actions are carried out within agreed timelines, including verifying root cause analyses and the adequacy of corrective/preventive measures and supporting evidence.
- Offer strategic recommendations to Nominated Persons to uphold regulatory adherence and implement best industry practices within their remit.
- Track the implementation of safety recommendations arising from audits, hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA), or incident reports, including follow-up with hazard owners via SMS 360 software.
- Maintain and update the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME) manual, audit checklists, and audit plans to reflect regulatory amendments and optimize practices.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities and third parties to facilitate external audits or respond to queries.
- Oversee subcontracted operational activities ensuring compliance with Emerald Airlines’ CAME manual, contractual obligations, and relevant regulations.
- Manage the internal occurrence reporting system and associated review processes, documenting all follow-up actions using SMS 360.
- Be prepared to travel to various off-site locations as needed.
- Execute additional duties as reasonably assigned by the Compliance Monitoring and Safety Manager (CAMO).
Qualifications and Experience
- At least five years' experience in an aviation maintenance environment (Part 145) or within a Part M/CAMO organization.
- Holder of an EASA type-rated Part 66 licence or a relevant aeronautical degree.
- Familiarity with EASA (EU) No 1321/2014 Part V(c) CAMO regulations and IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices.
- Solid understanding of auditing methodologies including planning, execution, analysis, and reporting, with experience compiling audit reports and managing corrective/preventive actions.
- Awareness of safety risks inherent in aviation operations, including human factors and performance limitations.
- Capability to identify unsafe conditions and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Proficient with information systems, excellent communication and written skills.
- Self-driven with strong organizational and investigative abilities.
- Willing and able to travel within the Emerald Airlines network and maintain a full driving licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal auditor training related to EASA Part 145/CAMO.
- Certification in Safety Management Systems, including hazard identification and risk assessment techniques.
