Role Overview

As a Retail Loss Prevention Officer, you will be a critical member of the BESTSECRET team, working closely with your colleagues to maintain a secure and pleasant environment at our retail locations. Your vigilance, professionalism, and responsibility will actively contribute to minimizing losses and ensuring the safety of our stores. Utilizing your presence, analytical mindset, and trained observational skills, you will detect potential risks early and significantly support incident investigations as well as the enhancement of security-related procedures. Your approach will be confident, solution-focused, and consistently professional.

Working Hours

Your working hours align with the store operating schedule, encompassing 40 hours per week across five working days. Shifts occur only on weekdays with no night or weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement the company’s strategy to prevent crime and decrease inventory discrepancies while identifying and analyzing loss potentials.
• Conduct surveillance and covert observation of customers and staff on the sales floor, including evaluation and analysis of video surveillance footage.
• Investigate and prevent external and internal thefts actively, intervening promptly upon suspicion and executing preliminary detentions as necessary.
• Record all incidents meticulously, prepare detailed reports, and collaborate with law enforcement agencies.
• Manage security systems, utilize and analyze relevant data, and assist in refining safety-related processes and protocols.
• Deliver training sessions and awareness programs on loss prevention and inventory shrinkage, promoting a culture of safety within the store environment.
• Deter potential offenders through a professional and strategic presence on-site.

Qualifications

• Strong self-motivation, resilience under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
• Mandatory experience as a detective; retail or security field experience considered advantageous.
• Dependable, organized, and responsible working style combined with heightened alertness and keen observation abilities.
• Strong interpersonal insight and psychological aptitude for recognizing unusual or suspicious behaviors.
• Assertiveness complemented by a calm, de-escalating, and authoritative presence.
• Discretion, cross-cultural sensitivity, trustworthiness, and a well-groomed, professional appearance.
• Proficiency in German is required; additional language skills are beneficial.
• Legal knowledge and expertise in handling relevant security systems and compliance.
