Job description

About the Role

This position offers flexible working days at various sites including New Milton (Saturday and Sunday) and Verwood (Monday and Tuesday). The role requires mobility to cover multiple retail locations and shifts, to uphold a secure environment for customers, employees, and merchandise.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a prominent and effective security presence aimed at preventing theft, antisocial behavior, and other security threats.
  • Conduct routine patrols throughout store premises to ensure consistent safety vigilance.
  • Operate CCTV and security monitoring devices vigilantly to detect suspicious behaviors.
  • Perform searches in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Respond quickly to alarms and incidents, escalating issues to management or emergency responders when necessary.
  • Prepare thorough and timely reports detailing incidents and observations.
  • Work alongside store personnel to tackle security challenges and prevent losses.
  • Serve as a professional, welcoming representative for customers, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist with directions, address inquiries, and provide general support.
  • Manage and defuse confrontational situations calmly and effectively.
  • Follow all location-specific protocols, company policies, and legal standards strictly.
  • Support the broader security team and carry out additional tasks as requested by supervisors or management.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Possession of a valid SIA Licence as a Door Supervisor or Security Guard.
  • Excellent observation skills paired with acute attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated capability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proactive, dependable, and professional attitude towards safety and service.
  • Ability and willingness to work across several locations, involving travel between sites.
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
