Role Summary

The research technician will support lab projects technically and work under the guidance of the responsible Project Officer.

Key Work Areas

  • Carry out hair follicle and skin organ culture work.
  • Handle tissue fixation and embedding procedures.
  • Prepare cryosections and paraffin sections.
  • Run different immunohistochemical staining workflows and molecular biology methods.
  • Apply immunofluorescence and light microscopy techniques.
  • Capture images and analyze them using software tools such as BZ-Analyzer, BZ Viewer, and ImageJ.
  • Keep the laboratory organized by planning ahead for equipment and material needs, and by monitoring stock levels of media, chemicals, and other consumables.
  • Take part in scientific lab meetings and help organize workshops.

Required Background and Skills

Applicants should have completed training as a medical or biological-technical assistant, or hold an honours bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Strong practical knowledge of immunohistochemistry and routine histology is expected, along with solid computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
