Position Overview

The Research Assistant / Laboratory Assistant role is available starting September 1, 2026, on a fixed-term basis until August 30, 2027. The major focus is on ex vivo testing of stent-coated devices in minipig arteries, involving a combination of lab management tasks and experimental research using large animal models such as mice and minipigs. The work spans molecular and cellular biology techniques, RNA sequencing, and computational biology, placing the role at the crossroads of experimental cardiovascular research.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage laboratory operations and organize daily workflows.
• Conduct ex vivo experimental research employing large animal models.
• Perform molecular and cellular biology procedures.
• Operate within research and diagnostic labs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist in data analysis and prepare scientific documentation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in molecular life sciences or related fields such as biology, pharmacy, veterinary sciences, or biomedicine.
• Extensive experience with molecular and cellular biology lab techniques, including work involving animal models and organ dissection.
• Proficiency in immunofluorescent staining techniques for visualization of vascular structures.
• Strong organizational, communication abilities and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Interest or experience in bioinformatics and computational biology is advantageous.
• Proficiency in English; German language skills are a plus.
