The foundation focuses on evidence-based case studies to track the health journeys of cancer patients undergoing conventional treatments alongside nutritional and natural immunotherapy supportive care.

Role Purpose

The Research Assistant is responsible for gathering, organising, verifying, and documenting detailed information about cancer patients. This information is used to prepare well-structured and professionally composed case studies. Duties include reviewing medical records, patient histories, treatment timelines, symptoms, nutritional interventions, and follow-up results, ensuring all documentation is accurate, confidential, and evidence-based.

Key Responsibilities

• Interview cancer patients and their families when applicable to collect medical histories and treatment details.
• Gather and record diagnostic and treatment documents, including blood tests, imaging, histopathology, and tumour markers.
• Document conventional cancer treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and medications.
• Record lifestyle, nutritional, and supportive interventions obtained by patients.
• Maintain consistent follow-up records aligned with research protocols.
• Prepare chronological timelines and structured tables comparing baseline and follow-up medical reports.
• Summarise case details, prepare presentations, and research notes with clear distinction between patient-reported and verified findings.
• Avoid unverified claims or presenting any treatment as guaranteed cure; transparently note any limitations or missing information.
• Conduct literature reviews using credible scientific sources and assist in developing standardized case-study documentation tools.
• Categorise cases by cancer type, stage, treatments, follow-up duration, and outcomes; identify patterns related to symptoms and treatment effects.
• Support creation of research publications, educational materials, and conference content, maintaining proper scientific references.
• Obtain informed consent before data collection or publication and ensure patient confidentiality and ethical communication practices.
• Coordinate with medical teams and schedule patient interactions and follow-ups.
• Communicate effectively with patients to gather missing information and collaborate with content/media teams for accurate dissemination.
• Participate in case-review meetings presenting updated summaries.

Qualifications and Skills

• Master’s degree preferably in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Public Health, Clinical Research, Pharmacy, or Psychology.
• Candidates with relevant clinical research, medical documentation, oncology support, or counselling experience are eligible.
• Understanding of medical terms and laboratory reports.
• Strong research, documentation, and analytical capabilities.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal) and ability to communicate in Hindi; knowledge of Bengali or Marathi is beneficial.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Sheets.
• Ability to compile tables, timelines, summaries, and detailed reports with high accuracy.
• Respectful and empathetic communication skills with patients and relatives.
• Strict adherence to confidentiality.
• Motivation to learn oncology, nutritional science, and supportive care research.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in hospitals, diagnostic centers, NGOs, clinical research, or cancer support organizations.
• Previous work in medical case report preparation or patient follow-up documentation.
• Familiarity with research ethics, informed consent, and data anonymisation.
• Competence with reference management and research tools; some statistical analysis knowledge is a plus.
• Background in medical content writing or scientific presentation development is advantageous.

Professional Conduct and Ethical Guidelines

• The Research Assistant shall not diagnose, prescribe treatments, alter medical plans, promise cures, or interpret clinical results independently.
• Urgent health concerns identified during interviews must be immediately passed to authorised medical personnel.
• All patient information usage requires formal approval and documented consent.
