R&D and AI Research Engineer

Role Objective

Enhance formulation development, optimize processes, and address technical issues at the plant level by integrating deep expertise in chemical and polymer sciences with cutting-edge AI-driven research methods.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should hold a B.Tech, M.Tech, or Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Petrochemicals, or Applied Chemistry.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of practical R&D or process engineering experience within polymers, petrochemicals, resins, or coatings sectors. Prior experience specifically with Expandable Polystyrene (EPS) is strongly preferred.

AI and Research Skills

Must be proficient in utilizing advanced AI-based tools for tasks such as technical research, reviewing literature and patents, analyzing data, modeling processes, conducting comparative studies, and rapidly preparing detailed technical reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the development of formulations and evaluating raw materials.
• Troubleshooting production issues including suspension instability and lump formation.
• Conducting safe and systematic scale-up trials.
• Collaborating closely with teams from Production, Quality Control, Maintenance, and Projects to translate laboratory and research insights into practical plant-level improvements.

Preferred Skills and Traits

• Strong analytical skills combined with a scientific approach and considerable exposure to plant-floor operations.
• Ability to independently spearhead technology adoption, structured experiments, and research initiatives.
• Experience in industries such as EPS, polymers, plastics, petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, resins, coatings, or related chemical-process manufacturing.
