Job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable construction company's head office in Roscommon, Ireland. This permanent role offers a competitive salary ranging from €70,000 to €90,000 plus a package and company van, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare budgets and detailed cost plans for various construction projects.
  • Evaluate expenses including materials, labour, and other project-related costs.
  • Continuously track costs to ensure projects stay within allocated budgets.
  • Advise on methods to reduce expenses and improve cost efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors to secure favorable terms.
  • Compile and present progress reports to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and company board.
  • Ensure all construction work adheres to required standards and specifications.
  • Support project managers and collaborate with team members as necessary to facilitate smooth project delivery.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of two years’ hands-on experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and industry practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational capabilities for effective communication and coordination.
  • Competency with cost estimation and project management software tools.
  • Strong skills in negotiation and pragmatic problem-solving.
  • Awareness of relevant regulations and compliance standards within the construction sector.
