About the Role
We are currently inviting applications for a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to join our team full-time based in Accra, Ghana, at Asylum Down. This role demands frequent travel between various infrastructure project sites and the office. The successful candidate will be central to managing financial and contractual elements of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, negotiate, and oversee cost estimates, budgets, and financial documentation for projects from planning through completion.
- Carry out feasibility analyses and budget planning during the pre-contract phase.
- Prepare tender and contract materials, including bills of quantities.
- Track project expenditures during construction, noting deviations and implementing necessary adjustments.
- Value completed work and handle payment processes such as interim valuations and final accounts.
- Evaluate and negotiate contract variations, claims, and modifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, project managers, and other stakeholders both onsite and in the office.
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulations, contractual terms, and industry norms.
- Regularly commute between office and various project locations as needed.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of practical experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with infrastructure projects.
- Professional qualifications such as RICS or GhIS certification are advantageous but not compulsory; substantial experience will be considered.
- Strong expertise in cost control, contract management, and construction methodologies.
- Excellent skills in negotiation, analysis, and communication.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently between multiple project sites and the main office.
- Proficiency with industry-specific quantity surveying and cost management software.
Compensation
Salary is competitive, up to 10,000 GHC per month, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
