Job description

Job Overview

The role involves evaluating the quality of products by conducting tests on vehicles, engines, mechanical propulsion components, and electrical propulsion parts under various testing standards and real-world customer usage scenarios. This applies to two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers across diverse product categories.

Key Duties

  • Plan and implement testing protocols for vehicles, engines, subsystems, and parts in the laboratory environment.
  • Simulate customer complaints specifically related to Targeted Warranty (TGW) and warranty issues in alignment with African country requirements.
  • Conduct regular visits to African markets to identify common customer pain points and complaints, linking these insights to laboratory testing processes.
  • Create Product Quality Management (PQM) incident reports and perform root cause analyses for any test failures.
  • Employ QC story methodologies to resolve problems in designated projects.
  • Develop new simulation cycles reflecting updated use cases and operating conditions derived from customer feedback, along with upgrading test standards accordingly.
  • Oversee daily maintenance tasks such as monitoring 5S protocols, safety measures, utilization of rigs, and upkeep of test rigs and equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with 3 to 5 years of practical exposure in vehicle labs, engine labs, mechanical labs, or vehicle dynamic labs.
  • Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) in Mechanical Engineering may also be considered.
  • Experience working within two-wheeler, three-wheeler, or four-wheeler OEMs or Tier 1 multinational corporations focusing on R&D and Quality Assurance functions.
  • Familiarity with data loggers and instrumentation for two-wheeler/three-wheeler applications to capture customer usage patterns is preferable.
  • Knowledge of EMS calibration and Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) testing is an added benefit.
