Job description
Job Overview
This role involves ensuring compliance with Saudi Aramco standards and project-specific quality requirements for welding, fabrication, piping, and mechanical activities. The inspector makes sure that all work adheres to approved specifications, drawings, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and relevant international codes.
Key Duties
- Carry out inspections of welding, fabrication, piping, and mechanical work according to approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, and applicable codes.
- Examine Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), welder certifications, material certificates, and associated inspection records.
- Perform fit-up, visual, dimensional, welding, and mechanical inspections to verify quality and compliance.
- Organize, supervise, and witness non-destructive testing (NDT), hydrostatic and pressure testing, along with other necessary inspections.
- Detect non-conformance issues and ensure corrective measures are effectively implemented.
- Keep detailed records of inspections, quality control reports, and other documentation related to the project.
- Liaise with clients, Saudi Aramco officials, third-party inspectors, and construction teams for coordination of inspection activities.
Qualifications and Certifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Approval by Saudi Aramco with SAP number starting with 800**** and holding valid computer-based training (CBT) certificates for piping and welding.
- Professional welding inspection certifications such as CSWIP 3.1, AWS-CWI, or equivalents.
- Preferably certified as Level II in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods.
- Solid understanding of Saudi Aramco standards (SAES, SAMSS) along with ASME, API, AWS, and ASTM codes.
- Proficiency in interpreting WPS/PQR, ITPs, engineering drawings, project specifications, and inspection documentation.
Location
Position is based offshore in Saudi Arabia.
