About the Role
Zof AI is seeking a dedicated QA Automation Engineer in Accra, Ghana to join their full-time onsite team. The role involves daily interaction with AI agents to write, maintain, and scale automated test suites ensuring high-quality software releases. The ideal professional will have experience as an SDET, Test Automation Engineer, Quality Engineer, or Software Engineer in Test, with strong capabilities to maintain robust test frameworks in complex environments.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain comprehensive end-to-end test frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Create and enhance unit and integration test coverage leveraging pytest, Jest, and similar technologies.
- Identify and resolve flaky tests to maintain reliability and trust in the test suite.
- Lead the test coverage strategy across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing levels.
- Integrate test suites into continuous integration pipelines implementing release-blocking gates for quality assurance.
- Replicate and convert bug reports into precise, deterministic failing tests to aid debugging.
- Train AI agents to adopt effective test engineering practices for automated defect detection and remediation.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to enhance the quality standards of deliverables.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience authoring automated tests for production-grade software applications.
- Familiarity with browser automation frameworks including Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Proficiency in writing clean and maintainable code in languages like Python, TypeScript, or Java.
- Understanding of continuous integration processes and the role tests play in gating software releases.
- Keen eye to differentiate between genuine test failures and flaky test cases.
- Capability to read and comprehend unfamiliar codebases for effective test design.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Adaptability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced work environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience constructing test infrastructure, fixtures, or specialized test data generation tools.
- Background in testing APIs, mobile applications, or conducting performance and load testing.
- Ability to define quality metrics and report them to engineering leadership.
- Familiarity with AI evaluation or benchmarking frameworks.
Compensation & Benefits
The role offers a monthly salary ranging from GHS 6,000 to 12,000 along with meaningful equity. Location & Work Environment
