Role overview

Amazon’s International Public Policy and Government Affairs team is looking for a manager to support its work across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, and Asia Pacific. The team partners with policymakers, industry bodies, and non-governmental organizations on a wide range of issues tied to consumer and commercial environments, such as digital technology, consumer protection, connectivity, economic development, e-commerce exports, logistics, devices, and taxation.

This position is focused on policy advocacy and outreach in the Middle East and North Africa for Amazon Leo, the company’s effort to deploy a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites designed to deliver low-latency, high-speed broadband to underserved and unserved communities worldwide.

What you will do

You will collaborate with Business, Regulatory, and Legal teams to shape policy strategy, run advocacy initiatives, and manage senior-level government engagement across the Middle East and Africa. The role also includes coordinating with multilateral and regional organizations, working with consultants and trade associations, and representing the company at meetings and conferences.

You will help strengthen Amazon’s advocacy on telecom and space policy topics by translating technical and regulatory issues into clear, persuasive messaging for internal and external audiences.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, along with experience in international legislative and regulatory policy processes. Background in telecom, connectivity, space, or technology policy is preferred, as is prior advocacy experience that involves persuasive written and verbal communication.

Preferred background

A master’s degree or higher is an advantage. The ideal candidate will be able to explain complex subjects clearly, work effectively in ambiguous and fast-moving settings, and deliver measurable outcomes. Strong understanding of connectivity, telecoms, spectrum, space, or similarly regulated industries is highly valued.

Experience gained in companies, consultancies, trade associations, government, or similar organizations is useful, especially if it includes work across several countries in the Middle East and North Africa. You should be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all corporate and political levels, working with technical specialists to develop clear talking points, and maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, ethics, and professional integrity.

The role also calls for the ability to identify important technical aspects of legislative and regulatory proposals, assess business implications, influence and negotiate effectively, exercise strong judgment and political awareness, analyze information from multiple sources, anticipate scenarios, and recommend practical actions. Cross-functional collaboration is also essential.

Additional information

Amazon supports an inclusive workplace and provides reasonable accommodation or adjustment during the application, interview, and onboarding process for candidates with disabilities. If the country or region you are applying from is not listed on the accommodations page, you should contact your recruiting partner.
