About the Role
An established engineering consultancy specializing in high voltage infrastructure and renewable energy projects is seeking a Project Manager for Secondary Engineering to join their German team. This position involves overseeing secondary engineering components of high voltage substations and grid projects, collaborating with TSOs, utilities, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects relating to secondary engineering for 110–380kV substations and switchyards from conception to completion.
- Coordinate activities involving Protection, Control, and SCADA engineering.
- Develop technical concepts for new constructions, refurbishments, and expansions.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and engineering deliverables.
- Prepare and review technical specifications and project documentation.
- Oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams during all project phases.
- Engage with clients, suppliers, TSOs, utilities, and EPC contractors for project alignment.
- Support the installation, commissioning, and handover processes.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute to team development.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated expertise in secondary engineering for HV/EHV substations.
- Proficient in Protection & Control systems and protection relay engineering.
- Knowledgeable in station control and SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with tools such as Engineering Base and/or EPLAN.
- Experience managing engineering projects, multidisciplinary teams, and stakeholder engagement.
- Understanding of German TSO and grid operator standards.
- Fluency in German at B2 level or higher is required.
