About Involve

Involve was founded in 2018 by two IIT Madras graduates who chose to pursue impactful educational initiatives rather than corporate placements. The organization is dedicated to empowering students to actively engage in their learning through peer mentoring and leadership opportunities, particularly focusing on foundational skills such as literacy and numeracy.

Currently, Involve collaborates with government schools across six Indian states, including Bihar, partnering with state and district authorities to transform classrooms into spaces of active student participation and leadership. The core Peer Teaching program enables senior students to mentor juniors, fostering not just academic growth but also confidence, communication, critical thinking, and agency. The vision is to reach 10 million children across India within five years.

Role Overview

The Program Lead will spearhead government partnerships and oversee the implementation of Student Agency programs throughout Bihar, emphasizing three districts: Bhagalpur, Banka, and Vaishali. This leadership position involves program planning, execution, monitoring, relationship management with governmental and civil society stakeholders, and continuous program evaluation to ensure effective scale-up and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent, high-quality program implementation by enhancing systems, processes, and stakeholder engagement to promote student participation and teacher ownership.
• Develop statewide and district-level capacities to support student leadership initiatives, improving delivery quality and uniformity.
• Manage Monitoring & Evaluation systems for timely data collection, analysis, and application to inform decisions, assure quality, and drive improvements.
• Create strong feedback mechanisms between program execution and design to enable responsive enhancements aligned with organizational vision.
• Maintain and nurture positive partnerships with state officials, education departments, and CSO partners to sustain commitment towards student leadership goals.
• Engage regularly with the Department of Education, State Council of Education Research and Training, and Bihar Education Project Council through comprehensive reporting and collaborative action planning.
• Advocate for program priorities within state educational forums and influence relevant policy decisions.
• Collaborate with CSOs to address school-level needs collectively and strengthen student outcomes.
• Document program progress, challenges, and operational gaps to support informed decision-making and transparent reporting.
• Analyze stakeholder feedback including from BACs, teachers, and CACs to drive continuous program refinement.
• Provide timely, comprehensive reports for funding bodies and government stakeholders to maintain transparency and trust.

Candidate Profile

• 4 to 6 years of experience in the education sector with proven team management capabilities.
• A master's degree in education, government relations, social work, rural management, or related disciplines from a reputed institution.
• Exceptional planning skills and proactive approach to on-ground work, coupled with patience to achieve outcomes.
• Strong relationship-building skills to mobilize stakeholders and navigate bureaucratic processes effectively.
• Analytical mindset with solid knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and operational data structuring.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to make thoughtful, data-informed decisions.
• Demonstrated strong work ethics including punctuality, environmental awareness, and self-motivation.
• Passion for education and mentoring young students.

Additional Information

• Position is based onsite in Patna, Bihar, requiring frequent travel to districts, government offices, and other stakeholder locations.
• Fluency in Hindi and English is required.
• Annual compensation ranges between INR 5.5 and 6.5 lakhs (negotiable based on experience and suitability).
• Immediate joining is preferred.
