About the Role & Team
Disney Live Entertainment crafts captivating entertainment experiences worldwide, ranging from intimate performances to grand spectacles at theme parks, resorts, and cruise ships. This diverse team includes experts from various fields such as technical direction, writing, lighting design, choreography, cosmetology, and music production, united by the mission to create magical worlds through a blend of technical skill, creative excellence, and spectacular execution.
As a Production Manager, you will oversee the production and financial performance of assigned projects from start to finish. Your role is vital in upholding creative integrity while ensuring efficiency and reliable operations. Duties include managing project scope development, budgeting, expense tracking, procurement, contracting, scheduling, and delivering project goals.
This full-time position reports to the Executive Producer Manager – Costume Production and is classified as an internal assignment/project hire with no guaranteed permanent placement.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise production teams on best practices and quality standards, coordinate with clients and partners to implement all components of Disney Live Entertainment, and respond promptly to challenges by proposing effective process adjustments.
- Build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders, including Producers, Directors, Technical teams, Costumers, and Operations staff, to collaboratively achieve project objectives.
- Work closely with contract administrators and procurement to monitor expenses, manage budgets and job numbers, and ensure adherence to company financial policies.
- Implement operational strategies within production, act as the communication liaison with internal and external clients and stakeholders, and coordinate with other business units impacted by the project.
- Provide leadership and support to Costumers and Cosmetology Managers assigned to projects.
- Promote and support safety, environmental stewardship, inclusion, and other corporate initiatives to enhance both Guest and Cast member experiences.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of five years of leadership experience in live show or theatrical production, live event production, technical direction, or stage management.
- Expertise in zero-based budgeting, labor and expense estimating, financial forecasting, and detailed budget tracking and reporting.
- Proven abilities in conflict resolution, team building, and collaboration.
- Capability to work independently and contribute effectively within a vibrant, creative team culture.
- Strong delegation, negotiation, organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Analytical and administrative proficiency with a focus on process improvements.
- Ability to give and receive honest, constructive feedback.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and night shifts, with willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience interacting with entertainment unions or trade associations.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Theater, Design, Entertainment, Event Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role in Florida is $83,000 to $111,200 annually. Final compensation will consider factors such as internal equity, geographic location, and candidate expertise. Additional bonus or long-term incentives may be part of the total package, along with comprehensive health, financial, educational benefits, and special perks unique to Disney.
