Production Engineer

About the Role

National Food Products Company (NFPC) invites a skilled Production Engineer to join their dynamic production team in Abu Dhabi. This position involves meticulous execution of the production schedule, optimizing resource allocation, and overseeing material management to ensure seamless production flow. The engineer will uphold strict food quality, health, and safety standards while meeting cost and timeline objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and finalize weekly mixing and processing plans aligned with the overall production schedule.
• Support the Production Manager in drafting the annual operating budget, perform monthly expense tracking with detailed reporting, and contribute to capital expenditure planning.
• Lead plant operations ensuring strict adherence to production plans.
• Create and maintain comprehensive production performance reports.
• Enforce NFPC's standards on cost efficiency, waste minimization, product quality, safety, and timely delivery at minimal cost.
• Accurately document ingredient receipt, processing stages such as mixing and pasteurization/UHT treatment, buffer storage, and transfer to subsequent filling sections as per established protocols.
• Maintain product chemical parameters within specified limits aiming for minimal processing loss and maximal batch yield.
• Supervise overall production operations ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
• Discover operational cost-saving initiatives through optimal management of manpower, materials, and machinery.
• Conduct regular audits for procedure compliance and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) where required.
• Analyze root causes of non-conformance incidents and complaints, proposing practical solutions for continuous improvement.
• Implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain compliance with ISO and HACCP regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Dairy Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five years' experience in the dairy and/or juice production sector.
• Comprehensive knowledge of dairy and juice processing machinery and production workflows.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• High proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) for effective data management and reporting.
• Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing tools such as Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma.
