Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the produce department’s cleanliness, organization, and clear zoning to keep it customer-ready at all times.
• Regularly rotate fresh products and discard expired items to uphold quality and freshness standards.
• Verify that all produce items are accurately priced and properly signed, adhering to guidelines for ordering, clearances, markups, markdowns, and signage.
• Comply with food safety protocols including sanitation, cold chain maintenance, temperature monitoring, proper food handling, and observing sell-by and expiration dates.
• Stock and remove merchandise appropriately, utilize product protection where necessary, and arrange displays such as modulars and shelf caps to maintain a fully stocked department.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety policies to ensure a safe and tidy work environment.
• Demonstrate scheduling flexibility by being available for various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support store operations and consistent customer service.

Challenges

• Effectively manage high task volume in a fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts, while maintaining energy and focus.
• Handle physically demanding tasks including extended standing, bending, and lifting items up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive activities such as stocking and zoning with consistent attention to detail to meet store standards.

Compensation

The starting pay rate for this role is $18.70 per hour.
