Overview
The Ghana National Association of Teachers is inviting qualified Ghanaian professionals who are driven, leadership-oriented and enthusiastic to apply for the full-time position of Procurement Officer based in Accra. The role is integral to ensuring efficient, transparent, and cost-effective procurement processes aligned with organizational goals and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop annual procurement plans matching organizational needs and budgets.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and tenders.
- Ensure procurement activities are transparent, competitive, and compliant with legal and internal requirements.
- Evaluate and prequalify suppliers and service providers.
- Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts and service agreements.
- Comply with the Public Procurement Act, internal policies, and donor stipulations when applicable.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Update and manage supplier databases and vendor performance records.
- Keep detailed procurement registers, tender documents, and contract files.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as CIPs or equivalent are advantageous.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant procurement experience.
- Familiarity with Ghanaian procurement laws and procedures.
- Experience in unionized or nonprofit organizational environments is preferred.
