Overview
The Pre-analytical Laboratory Executive is responsible for managing all aspects of pre-analytical operations in a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) laboratory. This role ensures the accuracy, quality, and efficiency throughout sample handling, accessioning, storage, inventory, logistics, and results delivery. It is a junior role aimed at fresh graduates and requires strict adherence to quality standards to support smooth laboratory processes.
Working Hours
Shift schedules include option 1: 9 am to 6 pm or 2 pm to 10 pm from Monday to Friday; or option 2: 11 am to 8 pm Tuesday to Friday (or 2 pm to 10 pm) and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for biological specimen collection, handling, transportation, and receipt.
- Coordinate with collection sites to ensure sample integrity, accurate labeling, documentation, and traceability.
- Manage the receiving, accessioning, labeling, plasma and buffy coat collection, and storage of patient samples.
- Maintain quality control during pre-analytical stages to guarantee reliable test results.
- Oversee timely and secure delivery of test results to relevant parties.
- Coordinate secure data sharing channels in compliance with data protection laws and confidentiality agreements.
- Collaborate with laboratory operations and customer service teams to improve internal workflows and efficiency.
- Assist in laboratory inventory management under the guidance of the laboratory manager.
- Perform any other assigned duties related to the role.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- Diploma in Life Sciences or related field preferred; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong enthusiasm to work in a clinical laboratory environment.
- Familiarity and comfort with pipette use; passing a competency test is mandatory for employment confirmation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address and resolve logistics challenges.
- High attention to detail, especially with documentation and record maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Eagerness to keep updated with logistics and operational best practices.
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
Additional Information
This position is exclusively open to Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents. The salary ranges from 2600 to 3000 Singapore dollars per month, plus monthly bonuses.
