PMO Director

Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic, experienced PMO Director to spearhead our Project Management Office, steering enterprise-wide governance, portfolio oversight, and excellence in project delivery. This leadership position involves setting project management standards, managing strategic programs, optimizing resources, and ensuring the success of critical business initiatives. The role requires collaboration with executive management, business units, IT teams, and project managers to align project outcomes with organizational goals and enhance business value.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and implement the organization's PMO strategy, governance structures, and standardized project management protocols.
• Manage enterprise-wide project and program portfolios to ensure consistency with strategic objectives.
• Develop and maintain project methodologies, process documentation, templates, reporting formats, and best practice guidelines.
• Handle project prioritization, resource planning, budgeting, scheduling, and monitor portfolio performance metrics.
• Track project health indicators, risks, interdependencies, and KPIs across multiple programs.
• Provide strategic direction and oversight to project and program managers as well as cross-functional teams.
• Partner with executive leadership to guide investment decisions, transformation programs, and priority setting.
• Champion improvements in project delivery, governance frameworks, risk mitigation, and operational efficiencies.
• Prepare high-level dashboards, portfolio analytics, and strategic recommendations for senior executives.
• Lead, coach, and develop PMO team members promoting a culture of collaboration, responsibility, and continual development.
• Ensure project adherence to governance policies, quality benchmarks, and business goals throughout all phases.
• Remain current on emerging project management methodologies, tools, and industry trends to enhance organizational capabilities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Comprehensive expertise in project portfolio management, PMO leadership, and enterprise project execution.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking with sound decision-making experience.
• Proven experience managing large-scale project portfolios, transformation initiatives, and cross-functional collaborations.
• Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and effective resource distribution.
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, PRINCE2, PMI, and hybrid project management methodologies.
• Proficiency with project portfolio and management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Monday.com, or equivalents.
• Effective organizational skills and expertise in change management across multiple concurrent strategic priorities.
