Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Piping Designer or Senior Piping Designer to join our PDG team in Gurugram, Haryana. This fixed-term contract position focuses on creating and developing piping 3D models and 2D deliverables aligning with project requirements and Hatch quality standards. The role involves assisting in resolving technical piping challenges, supervising, and mentoring other designers.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold and promote Hatch's corporate safety culture.
• Design complex plant and piping systems using advanced 3D modeling tools.
• Conduct clash detection and coordinate resolution across multiple disciplines.
• Model existing plant structures, equipment, and piping systems.
• Ensure all drawings and deliverables meet Hatch quality and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to prepare design concepts for internal and client reviews.
• Develop detailed engineering designs and special item drawings.
• Apply project specifications and best industry practices in piping and mechanical plant models.
• Use vendor documentation to verify and develop models accurately.
• Coordinate and verify piping Material Take Offs (MTOs).
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams to ensure proper design integration.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior designers on Hatch standards and quality expectations.
• Assist in creating project-specific procedures and participate in formal design reviews.
• Extract stress sketches and coordinate pipe support design with stress analysts.
• Support and optimize piping system applications to achieve project goals.
• Produce piping General Arrangements (GA) and equipment location drawings.
• Resolve piping design issues throughout the project lifecycle, including design, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Advanced Diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in piping design.
• Extensive experience with Bentley, Intergraph 3D, and/or Aveva 3D design software.
• Strong design and modeling abilities for plant layouts, piping design, and detailing.
• Comprehensive knowledge of piping components, materials, and applicable industry or regulatory codes.
• Experience in isometric drawing production and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Proficient with 2D and 3D CAD systems.
• Understanding of PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Experience working on large-scale projects within multidisciplinary EPCM environments.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound knowledge of piping design systems and related workflows.
