Programme Overview
Join Westpac New Zealand's Payments Graduate Programme for a unique experience immersed in the heart of payment services. Over 10-12 months based in Auckland, you will be employed as a permanent team member starting February 2027, where you’ll participate in an orientation to deepen your understanding of Westpac NZ and engage with fellow graduates. Your journey will culminate in securing a role targeted to your interests and skills within the business.
Programme Experience
Guided by payments leaders and mentors, the programme is crafted to help you pinpoint your core areas while enhancing your technical and interpersonal capabilities through focused training. You'll also take part in community engagement, volunteering, and sustainability activities to enrich your overall work-life balance.
Typical Responsibilities
As a Payments Graduate, you will be involved in ensuring accurate, secure, and timely fund transfers. Depending on your interests and organizational needs, possible roles include:
- Payments Analyst: Maintain daily payment system functions, monitor transactions, troubleshoot issues, and enhance customer transaction processes.
- Payments Operations Analyst: Collaborate internally to manage payment flows, resolve inquiries, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Payments Change & Delivery Analyst: Support the rollout of new payment initiatives by coordinating tests and integrating changes into workflows.
Additional daily tasks may involve learning payment flows across various channels, contributing to reporting and problem-solving, engaging with cross-functional teams, driving continuous improvement efforts, and upholding compliance in a regulated environment.
Candidate Profile
Applicants must be current final-year students or graduates within the last 12 months holding undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications. New Zealand or Australian citizenship or residency is required. Ideal candidates are curious, pragmatic, and eager to grow, possessing a customer-oriented mindset, attention to detail, effective communication, and a collaborative approach.
