Role Overview

The Paste Crew plays a vital role in the safe and efficient handling of the underground paste reticulation system. This team ensures that paste fill is delivered accurately and reliably to support ongoing production. Working alongside Mining, Technical Services, and Maintenance teams, the crew is responsible for paste fill preparation, pipeline management, and regular system inspections while upholding rigorous safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, extend, inspect, and maintain underground paste reticulation pipelines and relevant infrastructure.
• Prepare and set up stopes ahead of paste filling operations.
• Monitor paste delivery mechanisms, reporting any issues or irregularities.
• Carry out routine checks on paste lines, valves, barricades, and filling infrastructure.
• Assist with pressure testing and commissioning activities for paste reticulation systems.
• Operate light vehicles, elevated work platforms, and other necessary equipment safely.
• Conduct paste filling tasks in line with approved procedures and mine schedules.
• Recognize and report hazards, defects, leaks, or failures in the system.
• Coordinate effectively with underground production, technical services, and paste plant teams.
• Support general underground services and project work as directed by supervisors.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience working in underground mining environments.
• Familiarity with paste fill operations, service crews, infrastructure, or underground production roles.
• Possession of a current Manual Driver License.
• Strong knowledge of underground mining safety practices and procedures.
• Capability to safely install and maintain underground services and infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within teams.
• Proactive in identifying hazards and applying suitable control measures.
• Motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively.
• Willingness to work a 7 days on/7 days off roster with both day and night shifts.
