About the Role
Oxford Learning Richmond Hill - Oak Ridges is seeking enthusiastic part-time tutors dedicated to supporting Elementary School students (Grades 1-8) in enhancing their mathematical skills. Ideal candidates are passionate about working with children, enjoy mathematics including numbers, fractions, and equations, and aim to help students improve their understanding and confidence.
Work Schedule & Location
The position requires availability during after-school and evening hours from Monday to Friday (3:30pm - 8:00pm), as well as some Saturdays (10:00am - 2:00pm). The role is based in-person at the Richmond Hill location, with no remote or relocation options. Applicants should live in or near Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to up to two or three students simultaneously, potentially at varying levels.
- Teach using both in-person and online formats following Oxford Learning's educational methodologies.
- Complete detailed post-lesson notes and daily updates regarding student progress.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor throughout sessions.
Qualifications and Requirements
- University students are welcome to apply; teaching certification is a plus.
- Strong familiarity with the current elementary math curriculum.
- Experience in tutoring or teaching math is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively by managing multiple students during sessions.
- Mandatory vulnerable sector screening clearance.
