Job description
Role Overview
ISS International Spa seeks an experienced Offshore Lifting / Rigging Specialist based in Doha, Qatar. The role demands overseeing, planning, and approving critical offshore lifting operations to ensure all lifting configurations and offshore vessel motions are properly accounted for.
Core Duties
- Develop and review lifting plans related to offshore vessel-to-vessel lifts, back deck lifts, hydrodynamic, and subsea lifting operations.
- Manage rigging arrangements including wire ropes, shackles, hooks, crane capacity, lifting radius, and the center of gravity of lifted objects and subsea assets.
- Approve lifts of static weight items exceeding 20 tons from vessel decks or between vessels, and oversee lowering or recovery of subsea lifts weighing more than 5 tons.
- Handle critical items such as clamps, sleepers, and lifting A-frames.
Qualifications and Experience
- Engineering degree preferred; structural, mechanical, or naval engineering background is advantageous.
- Mandatory certifications include BOSIET and LEEA or the commitment to obtain them promptly.
- At least 5 years of offshore experience, with 8+ years within the oil and gas sector.
- Experience with subsea diving, offshore installation techniques, and relevant safety standards.
Skills and Knowledge
- Proficient in Dynamic Amplifying Factor (DAF) calculations, safe working loads, and live loads.
- Knowledgeable of IMCA and IOGP offshore practices and safety construction standards.
- Understanding of offshore lifting environmental considerations and scenarios.
Other Information
- Immediate availability preferred, with a maximum notice period of 10 days.
- Work location is onboard Diving Support Vessels (DSV), handling heavy lifts up to 75 tons.
