About the role
Mercor works with top-tier creative and technical professionals and places them with AI research teams. The company is based in San Francisco and is backed by Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey.
Position
This opportunity is for a media, journalism, and communications evaluator who will assess AI-produced content using domain-specific quality standards.
What you will do
- Review AI-generated outputs against role-specific evaluation rubrics.
- Spot mistakes related to accuracy, visual presentation, and overall quality.
- Write feedback that is clear, organized, and actionable.
- Partner with AI research teams to help improve training data quality and model results.
- Work autonomously and on an asynchronous schedule while meeting deadlines.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in media, journalism, or communications.
- Strong command of English at a native or professional level.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, with particular strength in Slides/PowerPoint.
Preferred profile
- A master's degree or higher from a well-regarded institution is preferred.
Compensation
The pay range for this contract role is $80 to $120 per hour.
