Overview
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Manufacturing Process Technician to join our Engineering team and provide technical assistance to our molding manufacturing operations during weekend shifts (Friday to Sunday). This role is essential to ensuring that production equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes function effectively, while driving continuous improvements, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, optimizing, and continuously enhancing manufacturing processes in collaboration with the Engineering team.
- Deliver technical support to production teams to guarantee safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
- Perform preventative maintenance on molds, mandrels, tooling, and equipment to reduce downtime and boost production efficiency.
- Coordinate closely with Production Planning and Shift Leaders to minimize downtime and elevate operational performance.
- Document and maintain manufacturing procedures and work instructions following the company's Quality Management System standards.
- Take part in investigating customer complaints, quality issues, and deviations in processes.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers to design fixtures, jigs, tooling, and process enhancements aimed at increasing productivity and product quality.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing problems, establish root causes, and implement practical solutions.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to minimize waste, improve process efficiency, and boost process capability.
- Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), quality standards, and Environmental, Health & Safety guidelines.
- Provide support for additional projects and responsibilities as necessary to align with business requirements.
Eligibility and Qualifications
- At least a Level 6 qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience in roles such as Manufacturing Technician, Process Technician, Production Technician, or similar within technical manufacturing.
- Experience in manufacturing environments, ideally within medical devices, plastics, or other regulated industries.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
- Good interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office software.
- Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Self-driven with a keen focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
