Role Overview
This role is focused on managing transportation finance activities, including freight and tariff cost planning, variance analysis, budgeting, and inventory valuation. The Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive cost efficiency and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain inventory, freight, and duty costs for both inbound and outbound shipments.
- Coordinate with logistics and procurement to ensure day-to-day freight costs are accurate and optimized.
- Investigate cost deviations and recommend corrective measures.
- Support long-term planning, annual budgeting, and rolling forecasts by gathering and analyzing inputs from logistics and supply chain teams.
- Monitor budget adherence and identify potential overruns through key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Track and report variances related to inventory, inbound and outbound freight, and tariffs.
- Assist in root cause analysis of significant cost fluctuations and contribute to monthly plant performance reports tied to cost KPIs.
- Collaborate with New Product Development (NPD) and logistics to estimate landed costs for new products, prepare business cases, and monitor cost evolution throughout design phases.
- Maintain accurate costing data within the ERP system (SAP CO module), including setting up new product networks and routings.
- Conduct periodic audits of costing master data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Qualifications
- 10 to 15 years of experience in product costing or plant finance roles within manufacturing; experience in automotive or electric vehicle sectors preferred.
- Proficient with ERP systems, particularly SAP, and strong Excel analytical skills.
- Educational background includes CA, CMA, MBA in Finance, or equivalent credentials.

- Deep knowledge of inventory management, inbound and outbound costing principles, and factors driving cost changes.
- Strong analytical abilities and capability to interpret complex data.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach emphasizing execution and results.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
