This permanent, full-time position based in Auckland or Wellington involves supporting the identification, oversight, and control of non-financial risks embedded in everyday business operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end non-financial risk management activities including risk identification, evaluating control effectiveness, governance, and reporting.
- Provide advisory support that integrates risk considerations into projects, business changes, and ongoing operations.
- Facilitate risk management in change initiatives by conducting risk assessments, monitoring control implementations, organizing lessons learned, and offering pragmatic risk-based guidance.
- Assist in comprehensive risk identification both through top-down and bottom-up approaches within the Personal business.
- Prepare detailed risk analysis, thematic reports, and insights to inform governance forums and managerial decision-making.
- Review and evaluate control designs and effectiveness to detect gaps and drive risk-based improvements and remediation plans.
- Support the assessment of regulatory and policy changes, overseeing related implementation activities.
- Collaborate with specialist risk teams to provide insights for risk evaluations covering processes, systems, data, and customer experience journeys.
- Enhance organisational risk capability by delivering accessible advice, guidance, and sharing relevant risk insights.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated expertise in core non-financial risk principles such as risk assessment, control frameworks, operational effectiveness, risk management through change, and incident management.
- Proven experience in a risk advisory, first-line risk, assurance, or controls capacity, particularly involving projects or change initiatives from a risk perspective.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, licensing requirements, and strategies for regulatory change management.
- Advanced analytical skills to identify risk patterns, trends, and emerging issues effectively.
- Strong ability to distill complex risk information into straightforward, actionable insights for decision making.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, thriving as a reliable first-line risk partner.
- Effective verbal and written communication capabilities, including the preparation of governance and decision-support materials.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities and coordinate multiple activities in a dynamic environment.
- A proactive mindset towards continuous improvement and experience in fostering a resilient risk culture and building risk capabilities.
While candidates may not possess every skill listed, ANZ values a growth mindset and encourages applications from individuals who meet most of these criteria.
